Carshalton Athletic boss Stuart Massey reckons his squad needs to break some nasty habits despite a feel-good first-half performance on Saturday.
The struggling Robins gave Ryman Premier title favourites Wealdstone a fright, twice coming from behind and creating the better chances in the opening 45 minutes, however they eventually succumbed 4-2 to remain rooted in the relegation zone.
Carshalton forward Jason Henry headed his side level 10 minutes after they fell behind to a second minute goal, while young left back Paris Hamilton-Downes claimed his first senior league goal on the stroke of half-time by heading home a corner, again a few minutes after the visitors had retaken the lead.
Massey said: "I was enjoying the game until their third went in.
"We acquitted ourselves well in the first-half but still have a nasty habit of giving away silly goals.
"That said, I saw many little positives which we now need to put together to become a consistent force across a full game."
He added: "I was pleased with our energy levels, some of our passing and it was satisfying to see the lads score two goals. Their goalkeeper made a couple of outstanding saves too."
Robins keeper Michael White conversely gave an inconsistent performance at the other end, but his boss retains great faith in the teenager.
Massey said: "All players have off days, but Michael will learn much more by playing at this level then he would simply at training or playing in the reserves. I believe he has the attributes to become a fine goalkeeper.
"This was not about just one player's performance however, we need all our guys to play at a consistent level if our results are to improve."
Carshalton now prepare for two away games as a trip to Suffolk-based Leiston this Tuesday is followed by a visit to Grays Athletic on Saturday.
