After an eventful Scoop6 last week resulting in 3 coupons getting through to the 6th and final leg, this week’s Scoop6 returns with an estimated fund of £15m.

An absurd sum of money for selecting 6 winners out of 89 horses. How hard can it be?

The twelfth rollover of the year came at the expense of punter Joe McGuire whose £8 bet was riding on Escape to Glory in the 4.00 race at Thirsk.

The horse was matched in-running on Betfair at 1.01 (1/100 in fractional odds), but was beaten on the line by 16/1 shot Llanarmon Lad to cost McGuire a guaranteed £6,874,345 as well as a free shot at the bonus fund the following week for over £3 million.

The big race of the day is the Grade 2 Temple Stakes from Haydock. The race is part of the Champions Series and is ran over the shortest distance possible in a 5 furlong sprint, which mirrors the Epsom Dash which will be ran in 2 weeks time. Hot Streak, with young jockey and future star Oisin Murphy on board is the favourite for this race, but Sole Power will be a threat under Ryan Moore but would prefer a firmer surface.

Over in Ireland, the Irish 2000 Guineas takes place with the annual “pick one from at least 5 Aidan O’Brien horses” competition taking place in the 3.20 that will be shown on Channel 4 from the Curragh. However, this year, the big favourite is Kingman.

The Gosden/Doyle colt was 2nd to Night of Thunder in the English 2000 Guineas and should take victory leaving the Ballydoyle teams fighting for the place terms.
