Harlequins' Nick Easter has taken over as head coach at Wimbledon RFC.

The former England international number eight Will continue his playing career with Quins, and will be assisted by former Wasps and England prop, Tim Payne.

He said: “What an excellent time to be joining such an historic club. Wimbledon has always been on my radar and I’m proud to take on this role.

"I’ve already been made to feel very welcome but I’m looking forward to meeting all those who work to drive this club forward."

Easter holds the record for the most caps at Quins with 223 appearances, in a career spanning 10 years.

He and Payne will be aided in their push to secure Wimbledon’s promotion to National League Three South by former Glasgow Warrior, Shawn Renwick, who will fulfil a player/coach role.

James Ogilvie-Bull remains as team manager and the club’s new director of rugby will be former player and club stalwart, Steph d’Anna.
