Croydon Harriers’ girl athletes finished their team season with a flourish at Ewell Court on Saturday.

The youngsters claimed a very respectable second place in the Lily B (Braben Memorial) League final, including a clean sweep of the relays.

There were also maximum points in the 200m thanks to U13s Maria Sey and Toni Bryan, U15s Rosin Salami and Chanice Gordon, with U17s Coralie Mido and Tonay Moore completing the picture.

There were good signs too in the middles distances, with U13s Micheel Suvd and Kyra Sethna-Mckintosh and U15s Saarah Nawaz and Jessica Moore all competing with eye-catching determination.

The field events also saw Harriers achieving good results across the board. Versatile U13 duo Cassie Howard and Megan Driver supplemented 1,500m points with spirited contributions in both the javelin and high jump.

Emma Fossett courageously made her customary important input in the U17 throws despite an injury niggle, and is certainly one to watch for the future.

Wins apart, two pole vault second places from Ola Olefemi-Krakue and Sabrina Stoute brought reward for the club’s dedicated coaching in this highly technical event
