Kingston boxer Anthony Ayinde has warned rival Kane Baker he will not know what has hit him when they square up later this month.

The 22-year-old, who only took up fighting two years ago, will defend his QUeensbury Boxing League welterweight title at the season’s finale event in West Sussex on November 22.

Ayinde, who fights out of Kingston’s Cool HAnds Boxing Gym, claimed the crown with a career best triumph over old rival Ashley Dansie back in September.

And he insisted Kent-based Baker has little chance of wrestling the belt from his grasp at the Copthorne Millenium Hotel

“It was the best feeling of my life winning that belt against Ashley back in September, and there is absolutely no way I’m losing it to Kane,” he said.

“It was a tough fight to win the belt and its going to be an even harder one to defend it, but after watching Baker in action in his last contest I’m really confident I’m just going to have far too much for him.

“Now that I’ve got the title its natural all the other welterweights are going to want to take it off me, and Baker is going to be hungry just like I was before winning the belt.

“I’m preparing like a champion and I’ll be ready to stand toe-to-toe with him and hit him with shots he’s never been hit with before, “Believe me, he’s going down in this fight and I’ll be surprised if he gets up.”
