Corinthian Casuals bounced back from three successive Ryman Division One South defeats on Saturday, and boss Matt Howard declared “We needed that”.
A Jamie Byatt brace, plus a first goal of the season from skipper Joe Hicks, saw the Casuals to a 3-0 win over Ramsgate and record only their second league win in nine games.
Howard said: “It was a performance in stark contrast to the [4-1] loss at South Park last weekend.
“I said to the lads after the match, that’s what happens when you put the effort in… something that was previously lacking.
“We certainly needed that win.”
He added: “Fifty points is our first target, that will pretty much ensure survival in the league.
“After the start we had, did we get a little carried away?
“We probably did, but to have 30 points on the board in the middle of November, that’s not bad going.”
Casuals, 11th in the table, go to eighth-placed Sittingbourne this weekend.
