Boss Liam Collins is convinced he is closing in on a first win as boss of Walton Casuals.

Collins has presided over five games, including last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Hastings United in Ryman Division One South, without success.

However, that solitary point in East Sussex moved Casuals on to double figures at the foot of the table, something Collins believes is a significant milestone.

He said: “We’ve played three games against teams who were among the favourites at the start of the season, and we’ve taken points off Faversham, who are top, and Hastings.

“In both those games we were leading with minutes left, we just have to stop conceding late goals.

“It’s not a confidence thing, we’re just switching off at the wrong moment.”

He added: “But it will come, we’re not a million miles away such are the fine margins.”

Casuals host South Park this weekend without the suspended Jordan Cheadle and Merrick James-Lewis, and they go to Horsham on December 2.
