Sutton United goalkeeper Alan Julian has rubbished claims that he is leaving Gander Green Lane.

The31-year-old's future at United had been rumoured to be in doubt, with his absence from last night's dismal 2-1 Senior Surrey Cup defeat at 10-man Merstham adding fuel to the speculation.

However, Julian denied the rumours saying: "It's been a hard season for me because of injury. It's been a roller-coaster ride, but I am still at the club and as long as I am, I will continue to do my best."

Tuesday night's defeat effectively ends any hope for silverware this season, with United wallowing in 18th in the Conference South table on the back of one win in 10 games.

Julian said: "It's been a tough season for the club and we have a lot of good players, so it's a shame we are where we are in the league.

"I am sure we will be able to turn it around, we just need to get a couple of wins under out belt and then kick on."

Life gets no easier for United this weekend when they return to league action at home to Ebbsfleet, who have just signed former AFC Wimbledon and Gillingham striker Danny Kedwell.
