Harlequins hopes of a top four Premiership finish were dealt a blow as they were comprehensively beaten at Wasps on Sunday.
Tries from Tom Varndell, Elliot Daly and two penalty tries saw the hosts romp to a 37-6 triumph at the Ricoh Arena on a humiliating day for Quins.
It was all Wasps in the first half an hour as Andy Goode fired over nine points, before Varndell eventually slipped through a Danny Care tackle to score from a move that featured fine breaks from number eight Nathan Hughes and winger Christian Wade.
It got worse when Daly danced past Matt Hopper to cross to put his side 23-6 up at the break following fine work at a line out close to the Quins line.
It could have been much worse had it not been for some fine defence from Ugo Monye in an unfamiliar position of full back.
Wasps started the second half in the same way as they started the first, forcing a penalty try from a rolling maul as the hosts forwards – led by Hughes – turned the screw.
Try as they might, Quins could not find a way back in to the game and Wasps ruthlessly collected the bonus point at a five metre scrum with minutes remaining.
Quins: Monye, Yarde, Hopper, Casson, Walker, Evans, Care; Lambert, Gray, Sinckler, Matthews, Robson (c), Trayfoot, Wallace, Clifford.
Replacements: Ward, Marfo, Adeniran-Olule, Twomey, Talei, Dickson, Botica, Lindsay-Hague.
