Sutton United boss Ian Hazel has completed the signing of former Bromley and Weymouth midfielder Solomon Taiwo.

Hazel has brought Taiwo to Gander Green Lane from Lindsey Wilson College, in Kentucky, USA, where he was on a football scholarship.

He said: "Solomon has played a couple of reserve games and impressed me, so there is a chance he could be involved this weekend against Braintree Town."

Taiwo could be in line for a start with Alan Bray (back), Bashiru Alimi (groin), Tony Quinton (ankle) and John Scarborough (dead leg) all on the injured list.

Hazel's men stretched their unbeaten run to six games on Tuesday night after goals from Warren McBean and Craig Tanner saw United come back from two goals down to secure a hard earned 2-2 draw at Yeading.

And Hazel says his side's spirited comeback is a sign that they are heading in the right direction.

"It was a fantastic comeback. Yeading is a difficult place to go and, if we had gone two-down a few weeks ago, then we probably would have buckled.

"But I think there is more belief in my squad at the moment - winning becomes a habit. The team's ability hasn't been in question but I think the difference is that they are fighting for each other."

Tuesday night's creditable draw made it four points in four days for the Gander Green Lane club after they secured a 2-0 victory over Basingstoke Town on Saturday, thanks to goals from John Scarborough and Ross Gaynor.

United stalwart Matt Gray says his side's current run of form is down to the squad's increased levels of confidence.

"Everyone has been playing with more belief," said the 23-year-old carpenter.

We have a great team spirit here and we are all working hard for each other which is what we all want."
