Bradley "‘Super" Skeete is more than ready to have another crack at the British welterweight title after producing a near-perfect display at the SSE Arena last weekend.

The 27-year-old from Battersea punished and retired Italy’s Cuban-born Brunet Zamora to his stool in six rounds to retain his WBO European title, recording his 20th success in 21 contests.

Zamora’s corner team pulled their battered and bruised man out of the contest before the bell for round six.

Skeete said: “He’s had 31 fights and never been stopped so to do that to someone who has never been stopped, I know my power is getting there now.

“When I knew I was fighting him I was thinking about getting a knockout, but the stoppage was there.

"He was getting busted up from the first round so I just knew it was a matter of time.

“I was not rushing in and doing anything silly."

He added: “I would have liked to get the knockout but the corner pulled him out.

"He was getting busted up and he was hurt, so the corner did the right thing.

“My power is improving all the time. I have shut my critics up because in my past six fights I’ve stopped five so I must be doing something right."

Former Earlsfield ABC representative Skeete now hopes his promoter Frank Warren will get him another shot at the British title which he desperately wants.

He made an unsuccessful attempt to take the title off former holder Birmingham’s Frankie Gavin last November.

Skeete added. “When I turned pro I set my eyes on the British title and that’s the belt I want, but if bigger and better things do come then why not chase them and get them.

“That’s what I want, I want to be British champion and win that belt outright, that’s what I’m ready for.”
