Wandsworth's Joe Joyce is relying on muscle memory to get him to the Baku European Games super-heavyweight final.

The 29-year-old Commonwealth Games gold medal winner faces Tony Yoka of France in tomorrow's (Thursday) semi-final, with a possible final against favourite Majidov Mahammadrasul up for grabs.

If Joyce's form thus far in the Games is anything to go by, he will be in that final - he has dispatched Moldova's Alexei Zavatin and Lithunania's Mantas Valavicius in a total of just five minutes 15 seconds to reach tomorrrow's semi-final.

Joyce said: "Because of the World Series of Boxing, I have had lots of time in the ring.

"It is all muscle memory and it stays with you. I was not going for stoppage last night [against Zavatin], but I was relaxed and he was unprepared for me."
