Wimbledon's Kelvin Reilly finished second and sixth in the opening two rounds of the KTM Superduke Battle at Silverstone last weekend.
Reilly, who has not raced since injury brought his 2006 campaign to a premature end, set the second fastest time in practice on Friday, just behind Ed Smith on pole.
The first of the weekend's two races was close throughout, helped by a number of laps under the safety car.
Reilly, who never dropped out of the podium positions, was unfortunately run off the track by a strong over taking manoeuvre, which lost him valuable time.
After catching the front two on the last lap, Reilly won a sprint to the finish line to claim a well deserved second place.
In the second race, Reilly took an early lead only to slip back into a reputable but disappointing sixth position.
Reilly said: "I was great to get back on the podium. It has been a tough winter of recovery and training and it's starting to pay off."
