Sutton building for a bright future

Head coach Martin Knights says his Sutton & Epsom side will not take the rest of the season lightly despite securing the Surrey Cup last weekend.

Tries from Bryan Milne and Joe Goatley saw Sutton beat Chobham 14-3 in Sunday's cup final at Imber Court.

Knights wants no let-up when Sutton host relegated Basingstoke in London Division One this Saturday.

"I am absolutely chuffed to bits for the lads," he said.

"The hard work was done in the semi-final, but this gives them a taste of success and a real buzz.

"We have passed expectations this year.

"We have achieved a lot of good stuff, but we have got to work hard to build on this for next season now.

"Training last week was all about the cup final.

"Now it is about building the processes that cut out the inconsistencies and makes you a successful side on a regular basis."

Remaining fixtures: April 12 Basingstoke (h), 26 Portsmouth (a).
