Runners are on a Coll


Collingwood AC entered three teams in the Nonsuch Park Relays event, finishing 16th, 35th and 64th after a fine overall showing.

Collingwood A featured Andrew Stalley, Andrew Flett, Steve Cooney and Martin Lloyd, who finished with times of 11:32, 10:21, 11:27 and 11:58 respectively, giving them a total time of 45:18.

Collingwood B comprised of Andrew Griffin, Martin Lloyd, John Allen and Nigel Pointer, with their times of 11:56, 11:54, 15:10 and 13:10 respectively giving a total of 52:10.

Collingwood C was the ladies' team of Kate Knight, Ruth Cottam, Nicola Dicks and Melanie Johnstone, who finished in times of 21:58, 14:57, 13:29 and 13:33 respectively, giving them a total of 63:57.

Meanwhile, 11 members participated in the Banstead Woods Time Trial.

The Collingwood entries were led home by Steve Cooney, in 24th place with a time of 19:51. Andrew Stalley was 37th in a time of 20:49, while Martin Lloyd finished 46th in 21:15, with Andrew Griffin close on his heels in 51st place and a time of 21:42.

Thomas Wilkie showed an improvement of a massive 70 seconds as he finished ahead of Graham Humpris and Nicola Dicks - they were 71st; 74th and 76th in times of 23:26, 23:34 and 23:47 respectively.

Doug White finished 94th in a time of 25:10, Chris Brooke was 109th in 26:20, Lisa Shennan was 145th in 30:30 and Kate Knight finished 164th in a time of 37:58. A total of 166 runners participated.

Elsewhere, Melanie Johnstone, Steve Cooney, Allan Rumbles and Andrew Stalley ran the 30-mile Summer Tanners from Leatherhead Football Club.
