Bees boss Andy Scott has revealed he thinks Setanta has it in for him after being a handed a televised FA Cup clash for the second successive round.

The Griffin Park boss takes high-flying Brentford north to Blue Square Premier newboys AFC Barrow tonight set on landing a plumb third round draw - and turning the tables for a change.

It comes nearly three weeks after Scott’s men disposed of Havant & Waterlooville in another David v Goliath clash in front of the ITV cameras in the first round.

Brentford go into the clash on the back of a three match unbeaten league run - sparked by that 3-1 win in Hampshire.

And the manager - enjoying his first FA Cup campaign as boss - insists they must keep faith with the approach that has the Bees back among the League Two promotion chasing pack.

“We are set up again for a giant killing. I think the television people are after my blood, but we are big enough and ugly enough to take it,” he said.

“We want to give a good account of ourselves. Hopefully, we can get a bit of credit for what we are doing on the TV, get through and draw a big game because the lads deserve it.

“We will be treating the game exactly as we would any league game. We have to make sure we are professional and I’m sure we will get a positive result.”

The hosts have lost only one of their last five games in Cumbria and Scott is more than aware of the challenge his side will face.

“They have a very experienced joint management team, who will set them up to be hard to beat and to give us a few problems. We will have to combat that,” he added.

“We have got to go there and be prepared for whatever they throw at us.”

While fit again full-back Ryan Dickson is preparing to roll up his sleeves to get the job done, adding: “It is going to be a fight.

"You have to prepare for that first and then hopefully our ability will get us through the game.”

Tuesday night’s 1-0 win at Luton Town featured a telling contribution from Ipswich Town loanee Dean Bowditch, who laid on striker Nathan Elder’s winner.

The midfielder's loan terms mean he is adoubt for tonight's clash, but Scott is confident he still has the tools to do the job - despite being short staffed.

“We are down on a lot of numbers and with the FA allowing seven subs, I think I’ll have to recruit a few supporters to fill the spaces,” he joked.

“It looks like we will only have four subs on the bench at this rate, but I have more than enough faith in the ones that played on Tuesday and the substitutes on the bench, to do the job.”
