Sutton United winger Adam Wilde has agreed a six week loan deal to switch to BGB Premier league leaders Farnborough as boss Paul Doswell re-shuffles his pack to bring in reinforcements.

Doswell captured former QPR trainee Jon Munday on a non-contract basis this week, with Karim El Salahi sidelined thanks to persistent hamstring trouble and Chris Collins suffering a calf problem.

The Gander Green Lane chief is still searching for a centre-back, despite the arrival of 20-year-old Munday, however, it depends on whether Gavin Heeroo follows Wilde out of the exit door next week.

“I’ve had good reports about Jon. He became available, so I brought him in to throw him in at the deep end and see what he can do,” he said.

“He isn’t costing us anything because he is here on a non-contract basis, but he has a good chance of landing himself a deal if he performs and we can get a couple of players out on loan.

“There are still a couple of other defenders I’m looking at bringing in, but it remains a case of getting people out.”

Winger Wilde, 29, leaves the club having signed a two-year deal in the summer, and Doswell insists he is a victim of circumstance.

“We’ve tried the passing game and it just hasn’t brought success on a consistent basis. I’ve learnt that to be successful in this league you have to batten down the hatches a bit,” he added.

“At the moment there is a little devil on one shoulder telling me to bring back the wingers, and an angel on the other telling me to play it safe.

“I’d love to play my wingers again, but we have got a good system going at the moment that is big and strong through the middle.”
