Dave Ross led Collingwood AC home at the Epsom 10-mile race, coming home in one hour, four minutes.

Ross finished ahead of club-mates Richard Fox (1:09:09), Bill Walsh (1:09:38), Nigel Pointer (1:14:10), Mel Johnstone (1:17:00) and Nicky Stephenson (1:17:23). Chris and Paul Brooke ran the Pine Ridge 10k at Wisely Common, finishing in 56:22 and 50:05 respectively. Allan Rumbles ran his 96th marathon in Newcastle, finishing fourth overall in three hours, 11 minutes.
