Cyberspace can expect a busy weekend if Bees midfielder Marcus Bean gets his way against Peterborough United on Saturday.

Bean is among the more prolific users of social-networking website Twitter in the Brentford squad and has vowed to quit ‘tweeting’ until boss Andy Scott’s men record back-to-back league wins.

The Griffin Park outfit are halfway there after Saturday’s pressure relieving 3-0 win at bogey side Tranmere Rovers lifted the Bees off the foot of the League One table.

And Bean, who says he is sick of winning one week and losing the next, reckons he will be a relieved man when he can finally log-on with a run of good results under the club’s belt.

“I have put on my Twitter account that I’m not going to tweet until we’ve won back-to-back games,” he said.

“But event at this stage of the season that is not good enough.

“We need to string a few results together to get ourselves in a decent position. Hopefully I can start tweeting again on Sunday. That is the plan.”

Brentford will celebrate their 121st anniversary on Saturday when they welcome free-scoring Posh - who banged five goals past Swindon Town on Saturday - to Griffin Park.

Boss Gary Johnson’s men are riding high on the back of a strong home record, but they have struggled a little away from London Road to leave Bean sniffing an upset.

“Our record shows that against the big or more fancied teams, we’ve got no problems,” he added.

“It is against teams like Tranmere that we struggle and we have hopefully laid that ghost to rest now.

“We are quietly confident that if we show the same application and commitment that we did there, then we will be alright.”

Brentford’s next three games: Oct 23 Peterborough United (h), 26 Birmingham City (a), 30 Exeter City (a).
