Marcus Bean reckons Brentford’s precarious league position saw the players raise their game at the weekend.
The Bees kept a cleansheet and rattled in three goals to ease the pressure on Griffin Park chief Andy Scott.
And the 25-year-old midfielder admits it was something the players took in their stride.
“I’d be lying if I said we didn’t feel some sort of pressure from the situation,” he said.
“When results are going against you, confidence can be fragile but Kevin’s early goal settled us down.
“The boys showed great determination to get through and everyone has been a bit sharper and buoyant at the training ground this week.”
And Scott was delighted with his side’s turnaround after a difficult run of results.
“The spotlight was on us after last week,” he added.
“The response of everyone, the staff, the player, all week has been terrific.
“They showed we are all in this together and all want the same thing. We were fantastic.”
