Craig Dundas reckons Sutton United have the fire power to put the fear of God into any defence - including Blue Square Premier Kettering Town.

The 30-year-old was the stand-out player in his side's FA Cup fourth qualifying round win over Leatherhead that set up Saturday's first round proper clash.

Goals from Dundas, Craig Watkins, Leroy Griffiths and Fola Orilonishe ultimately settled the Tanners tie as the quartet took their collective league and cup tally for the season to 32 so far.

And the former Hampton & Richmond Borough frontman, who is relishing the label of underdogs this weekend, reckons that statistic would have any visitors to Gander Green Lane quacking in their boots.

"Leroy [Griffiths] is one of the hardest working strikers in the league and Craig[Watkins] is one of the quickest. We all compliment each other well," he said.

"I think we'd be a challenge for any side with the form we are in at the moment, and with the likes of Fola [Orilonishe] coming off the bench that is just an added bonus.

"Kettering are definitely going to be worried about us. We're in the same position as Leatherhead were when they played us.

"We are the underdogs and the underdogs always raise their game 20 per cent in situations like this.

"Kettering are expected to win and they are going to be nervous. We have nothing to lose and the pressure is definitely off.

"It is a great opportunity to reach the second round and to get there would be amazing because we all still want to play on the biggest stage."

Dundas, who started his career by playing 300 games for Croydon FC, is in his second spell with United following a season Hampton.

And he feels his spell at the Beveree is behind his all action form since returning to United that saw him first dominate Ryman Premier League defences and now test the Blue Square South.

"When I went to Hampton I realised I had to work harder on my fitness to be a threat at that level and I came back to Sutton a better player for it," he added.

"I 've worked much harder at my game since I've been back and I'm reaping the rewards. I'd like a few more goals but it is nice they are being shared around. Team spirit is good."

Sutton go into Saturday's game on the back of an 14-match unbeaten league and cup run and Dundas believes the success is a direct result of the season opening 5-0 defeat to Woking.

And he hopes it continues for one more game - at least.

"After that first game we realised this was a big step up from the Ryman Leagues and have really worked hard," he said.

"Teams will be thinking we can't keep it up, but hopefully we can keep this run going and see where it takes us."
