Robshaw: Quins must not fear losing on big stage

Harlequins captain Chris Robshaw has warned his men not to let the occasion get to them when they walk out at Twickenham tomorrow.

The Kingston-based England skipper will lead Quins into the biggest game in the club’s history when they face eight-time finalists Leicester Tigers in the Premiership final.

Lifting the trophy will complete a terrific season for Robshaw, which saw him named the Premiership player-of-the-year earlier this month.

The former Warlingham mini youngster has also led his country with aplomb in 2012, securing dramatic Six Nations wins over Italy, Scotland, France and Ireland.

Quins, relegated from the top-flight in 2005, have plenty of big game experience and Robshaw insisted they must draw on that to overturn the bookies’ favourites.

“When you are in club colours you want to go out and play in the big games and they don’t come much bigger than this,” he said.

“The occasion got the better of us a bit against Northampton, but we kept our composure, got the try and Nick Evans slotted the points.

“We’ll hopefully be a bit more relaxed at Twickenham. It is new for us all and hopefully it will be a very exciting time.

“I’m sure they will have some tricks up their sleeves but we’ve got to turn up and we can’t be scared of losing.”

Ugo Monye (hamstring) and Danny Care (shoulder) have won their respective battles for fitness and should be in-line to take their place in the matchday squad for tomorrow’s clash.
