Ernest Bevin School’s Haris Kekic returned from the Flanders Cup judo competition in Belgium with a bronze medal.
The premier judo competition, involving more than 1,500 competitors, serves as a junior European ranking tournament.
Kekic, a Year 12 student at the Tooting school, fought in the super heavyweight category, which will give him junior European ranking points.
Kekic won four bouts, gaining ranking points he hopes will open the door to the European and World Championships.
Tomas Luckus was fifth in the -90kg group, while college mates 14-year-olds Abdurahman Chaatouf and Aaron Mahoney-Jones, Adam Adman, 16, and Ryan Gordon, 17, also took part.
