Harriers pick up Development Club of the Year award

Herne Hill Harriers picked up the Development Club of the Year Award at the England Athletics London Region presentation night.

The club has enjoyed its most successful year with both senior teams promoted in their National Leagues. Ivor Northey was named London Development Coach of the Year.

At the Southern Inter Counties cross-country races in Essex, Saskia Millard came second to help Surrey win the U13 girls’ race.

Michella Obijiaku won the U17 women’s shot at the Metaswitch Indoor Open meeting with a personal best of 11.30m with the 4kg shot. She also won the U17 women’s 60m in 8.01s.

Ishmail Abdul Karim was the fastest U17 man in 7.31s and Kishon Allen won the U15 boys in 7.47s. Rachel Madden set a personal best with 26.61s in winning the U17 200m.
