Notre Dame School student Pippa Earley celebrated double U15 girls gold at the Surrey Indoor Championships on Sunday.

The Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers 13-year-old clocked 9.58 seconds to win the 60m hurdles, before leaping 4.93m to win the long jump in Carshalton.

Walton Athletics Club 15-year-old Sophie Mace struck U17 girls shot gold with a throw of 11.29m – the second best effort from a female athlete overall, bettered only by 2010 Commonwealth Games finalist Eleanor Gatrell’s 14.93m.

Brother Sam, 13, landed U15 boys shot gold with an effort of 12.16m, while Sawa Yamakawa won silver medals in each of the U15 boys 60m hurdles, long jump and shot.

Walton’s Millie Thorpe won U17 shot silver, while clubmate Lucy Weir collected U20 girls long jump bronze and Sinead O’Brien won senior women’s shot bronze.

Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers’ Christopher Dack, 31, threw 14.09m to win the senior men’s shot and clubmate Jordan Smith-Bent, 23, clocked a personal best 6.90secs to land a 60m sprint bronze.

Rhianna Reynolds, 14, leapt 10.83m to win U17 triple jump gold to go with a high jump gold and Alex Parkinson, 16, won gold in the U17 boys 60m hurdles.
