There was double delight for Epsom & District Swimming Club last weekend with two new biathlon silver medalists.
Spencer Gall overcame a broken wrist to take second at the U14 South East Region Biathlon Championships at the weekend.
He showed his swimming talent in particular by recording the fastest 100m freestyle swim (60.6 seconds) of his age category.
The 13-year-old broke his wrist playing rugby for Glyn School five weeks ago and only had his cast removed 48 hours before competition.
Gall has qualified for the national biathlon championships at the Olympic stadium in March.
Meanhwile, Fred Geen, 14, won U15s silver at the Surrey Biathlon Championships in Crawley.
He clocked two minutes 14.16 secoonds for the 200m (1,160 points) finishing fourth, and then ran 5:15.39 (1,174 points) for a close second in the run, giving him second overall on 2,334 points.
