The Richmond & Twickenham Times cameras were at the Bushy Park parkrun last month to give our readers a flavour of what it takes to get off to a good start at the iconic event.

More than 800 runners regularly take on the 5km course every Saturday with a host taking their dogs and children for company.

The event celebrated its 11th anniversary earlier this year and is showing no sign of a reduction in its popularity having spawned more than 350 similar events nationwide.

Belgrave Harrier Andrius Jaksevicius clocked 16 minutes 25 seconds to win last Saturday’s Bushy Park parkrun ahead of second-placed Anthony Jackson (16:59).
