A brace of Herne Hill Harriers club records have fallen by the wayside this past week.
First of all, British U23 international Katie Snowden broke the senior women’s one-mile record when she competed at the SOAR Mile Track Races in Battersea Park.
Snowden clocked four minutes 39.78 seconds to beat the previous best, held by Chloe Tighe, by seven seconds.
Elsewhere, at the club’s open meeting held in Tooting at the weekend, Jaden Kennedy broke his own U13 boys’ 1,500m record.
It was a good week for Kennedy, who started by improving his personal best over 200m by two seconds (26.9secs) at a Walton Young Athletes Meeting.
The youngster was then just pipped to top spot by Croydon as part of the 4x100m U13 boys’ team at the Clubs Challenge Relay held at the Olympic stadium.
He then topped it all by clocking 4:25.91 over 1,500m to set the new club record.
