Kingstonian’s M&M strike pairing might look like a footballing match made in heaven, but it is no accident the duo have hit it off this sesaon.

Andre McCollin scored his 14th goal of the season as Ks thrashed Cray Wanderers 4-0 at Kingsmeadow on Saturday, meaning he and Ryan Moss have now netted 27 times between them this term.

Moss, who signed for Kingstonian in the summer, first worked with the former Yeovil Town striker when he arrived at Conference South Dorchester Town on a month-long loan from Huish Park in October 2009.

The 27-year-old ex-Bashley striker collected the players’ player of the year award at the end of that season in the last of Moss’ three spells with the Magpies.

Moss rates that campaign among his happiest times in the game since his release from AFC Bournemouth as a teenager.

And the former Hampton & Richmond Borough striker, revitalised after a disappointing spell at Havant & Waterlooville and then the Beveree last term, believes life at Kingstonian is becoming just as good.

“It is a great set-up here and I’m absolutely loving it,” said Moss, who moved to Clapham from the south coast last year.

“Every striker sets themselves a target of around 20 goals in a season, so to have 13 league goals before Christmas is great.

“I think my best league haul is 16 or 17 in a season, so I’m well on the way.

“I knew of Andre before I came here because he was at Dorchester on loan for a bit, so I knew how good he is and how we could work together.

“I’m a very old school centre forward who likes to get stuck in, while Andre is more creative and probably a more natural goalscorer. We compliment each other well.

“It was a great environment there and I really enjoyed my time.

“You cannot fault the set-up at Ks. It is as professional as it can be for non-League football and that is all you want really.”

McCollin, Josh Casey, Aaron Goode and Daniel Sweeney netted on Saturday and Dowson was pleased to see goals coming from elsewhere and not just his prolific front two.

“We’re an attacking team and are always going to create chances,” said the manager, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Enfield Town.

“We didn’t play badly on Monday, we just didn’t score.

“It was a cracking game, between the league’s two best teams.”
