Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish has joined fans in venting his frustration at the postponement of last night 's clash with Everton.
Palace's game with the Toffees at Goodison Park was called off with just 35 minutes to go to kick-off because of stormy weather.
The decision was taken to call off the game after advice from the police that buildings in Goodison Road close to the ground were unsafe.
But the decison meant that an estimated 1,500 Palace fans who made the trip to see the game were left disappointed.
Many were angry the game was called off at such short notice.
The club's co-chairman Steve Parish tweeted: "What an absolute shambles, just got home 7 hours in the car longer for the fans on the coaches!!
"Asked to delay kick off, to get fans coaches there, told there were no problems and no need to be delayed, 20 mins later games called off!"
Palace players warm up before the game was cancelled
Season ticket holder Andrew Finnegan, 24, from Shirley, who made the journey up with friends, said: "It was extremely frustrating.
"We basically spent 12 hours on the coach up there and back as shortly before we arrived was when the game was called off."
"We just could not believe there was no way the area that was unsafe could not be cordoned off. It seems a bit extreme that it meant the whole game had to be called off."
Mr Finnegan had taken two days off so he could go to the match- and said it would be unlikely he would be able to make the rescheduled game.
