Striker Ryan Moss is hoping Ks can take a leaf out of Ryman Premier League rivals Wealdstone’s book and get promoted as champions next season.

Ks lost 1-0 to AFC Hornchurch to miss out on promotion via the play-offs for a second time under boss Alan Dowson.

Wealdstone ran away with the league title this season after a succession of promotion set backs and Moss wants Kingstonian to do the same next time round.

“The first thought is you have got go again, keep the boys together and make a good attempt at it,” he said.

“It is hugely disappointing. Everything that has happened this season does not count for anything now.

“We’re out and we have got to come back in this league again next year.

“Other teams like Wealdstone have lost in the play-offs before and then gone up as champions. Hopefully, we can do the same next year.”

Moss and Andre McCollin, who have scored more than 50 goals between them this term, fired blanks on Wednesday, with the latter eventually limping off with a groin strain.

And his strike partner feels Ks need to find more goals from elsewhere on the pitch to reach the promised land of the Skrill South.

“Andre and have scored 70 per cent of the goals,” Moss added.

“Sometimes you need someone else to pop up and score the goals in tight games. At least we made it to the play-offs. We’ll just have to try again.”
