Walton Casuals boss Liam Collins has promised his men will be out of the Ryman Division One South relegation zone by the turn of the year.

The Stags saw their four match unbeaten league run ended in the final 15 minutes of Tuesday’s 3-1 home defeat to Three Bridges.

Casuals led 1-0 at half time through Gabriel Odunaike only for the visitors to level through a 77th minute Ben Godfrey penalty before Lee Carney and Alan Tair struck inside the final five minutes.

They had collected eight points from their past four league games – a run that had taken them off the foot of the table only for Tuesday’s defeat to send them back on goal difference.

Collins’ men go to neighbours Walton & Hersham on December 27 – a fixture sandwiched between Saturday’s visit of Whyteleafe and Corinthian Casuals on December 30, And the Waterside Drive chief is confident they can start the new year in good shape. We expect to win every game,” said Collins.

“People may be surprised by that, but we know the quality we have in the squad and the way we are playing at the moment.

“Our recent form has given us a massive boost and by the turn of the year we could be out of the bottom three by the turn of the year.”
