Not only did Brentford end a three match losing streak on Saturday, but midfielder Alex Pritchard reckoned the Bees showed the best way to deal with adversity - stick to your guns.

Stuart Dallas struck in the second half to give boss Mark Warburton’s men a 1-0 win over struggling Rotherham United at Griffin Park.

It halted a run of defeats to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ipswich Town and Brighton & Hove Albion and fired the Bees back up to fifth in the Championship table.

Brentford’s brand of attacking football has won plenty of admirers this term, but some had feared the recent run could force a change of plan to get back to winning ways.

But Tottenham Hotspur loanee Pritchard, enjoying a fine season in west London, reckoned there was no need to worry because the Bees will always keep faith with their instincts.

“You’ve got to keep playing the way we have been because you only have to look where it got us before Christmas,” he said.

“What is the point in changing? We are still in the play-off places.

“I don’t know whether people have been getting on our backs, but there is no need to.

“We have shown that when we are under pressure we can deal with it.

“And, when we get the ball and we are on top, we look dangerous every time we go forward.”

Brentford travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday looking to avenge an FA Cup third round exit at the hands of the Seagulls.

The Bees were 3-2 winners when they played Saturday’s hosts in the Championship in September and Pritchard, who sat out the cup defeat, wants a repeat performance.

“We know they came to us and we turned them over in the league, so we have just got to go there with a game plan and hopefully get three points,” he added.
