Brentford new boy Chris Long wants to repeat the success of fellow former Everton loan stars Jake Bidwell and Adam Forshaw.

The 19-year-old striker secured a one month loan switch to the Bees from the Premier League Toffees this week and is in line to make his debut at Norwich City tomorrow.

Bidwell and Forshaw both secured permanent moves to west London after successful loan spells from Merseyside, with the latter then signing for Wigan Athletic last year.

Long has been on the books at Goodison Park since he was five years old and twice played for England at the U20s World Cup in 2013.

Boss Mark Warburton sees plenty of potential in the youngster having tracked his progress for some time.

And Long is out to repay his new manager’s faith.

“Everyone at Everton has good things to say about Brentford,” he said.

"I was made up when I heard Brentford wanted me to come down.

"I'm glad I'm here and hopefully I can do the same as Jake Bidwell and Adam Forshaw.

"David Weir coached me when he was Everton reserve team manager.

"I am pleased to be with the first team and hopefully I can kick on.

"David looked after me at Everton and I hope he will look after me here. I looked up to Jake because he made his debut at a young age. He is a good player."
