Brentford boss Mark Warburton has demanded more respect for his players after a hard-fought 1-0 win at Leeds United – or maybe not.

Alex Pritchard scored the only goal of Saturday’s game to keep Bees fourth in the Championship table.

However, while Warburton derided rivals who labelled Bees as “little old Brentford”, it’s a tag that comes with benefits.

He said: “People keep saying little old Brentford. I think a little more respect should be due to players who have worked that well.

“Little old Brentford are coming here and playing well, we created a lot of chances. As long as we're little old Brentford that works for us.”

He added: “But people will see we're not little old Brentford out on the pitch any more.

“People keep referring to Brentford as hard working, committed, more direct and 'better than I thought they would be'.

“I think we're better than that, but as long as people take us lightly, the better it will be.

Bees are next in action at tomorrow night against Watford at Griffin Park.
