Bees head coach Lee Carsley did not have a problem with the tackle that left him sweating on the fitness of loan striker Marco Djurcin.

Djuricin limped out of action in the first half of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers after a robust challenge from Rovers' Grant Hanley.

The Austrian frontman, who was in the running for a senior international call-up this week, has two weeks to be fit for Brentford's next Championship encounter when Nottingham Forest are the visitors.

And Carsley is confident the 22-year-old Red Bull Salzburg forward, who has four goals for the Bees, will be fine.

"Grant Hanley came in from behind on Djuricin but there was nothing in it," he said.

"The lads were slipping all over the place on the turf. It was just one of those things.

"He's not bad, I think he's OK. He'll have an x-ray."

Djuricin was replaced by Konstantin Kerschbaumer and while Carsley praised his replacement's work rate, he admitted he remained a work in progress at Championship level.

He's [Kerschbaumer] done alright, but he needs a lot of coaching," added the Bees chief.

"He needs help.  He runs as fast as he can everywhere without being really effective.

"So we need to make sure that he uses his energy in the right ways.”
