Do not be surprised if Molesey make a late assault for a Ryman Division One South play-off spot.

The Moles, relegated in 2008, won the last five games of last season to lift the Combined Counties League Premier Division title by five points from Camberley Town.

They also claimed the Southern Combination Cup in a campaign that featured 40 goals from striker Stafforde Palmer.

Sharp shooter: Molesey's James McShane has been prolific again this term

Palmer has netted 21 times so far this term and Molesey are still in the promotion hunt, sitting 13th in the table, but only six points off the top five.

Webb whose men reached the FA Trophy third qualifying round earlier this season, admits his side has better than even he could have predicted this term.

But if they are to get into the play-off frame, now is the time to kick on.

Stretching for it: Reis Stanislaus has contributed plenty for Molesey this term

“When we got promoted we always knew we had a good side, but we have done better than many people expected,” he said.

“We have built on the momentum of last season and just carried that through.

“Our priority has always been the league this season and at the start of the season the aim was to get enough points to avoid going down.

“Do that before December, then you can kick on a bit.

“The club deserve it."

"They stuck by me and the players when we went down and now we are back.”

Midfielder James McShane has scored 25 goals this term and Reis Stanislaus has chipped in with 14, making Molesey the division's seventh highest scorers.

Stanislaus was on the scoresheet on Saturday as Molesey lost 4-1 at home to Worthing ahead of Saturday’s derby at struggling Walton & Hersham, who lost 4-0 at Hythe Town.
