Liverpool loanee Mamadou Sakho will not play again this season, says Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce.

Sakho has impressed since arriving at Selhurst Park in January, helping the Eagles keep four clean sheets in his eight games.

But he suffered a nasty-looking knee injury against Tottenham last month after landing awkwardly.

Allardyce said: “Not really [a chance of Sakho playing again this season]. I don't think so. It won't be long enough to think he'll be fit for Old Trafford.”

Palace’s injury list continues to grow as Andros Townsend is struggling with an achilles problem.

He has joined Scott Dann, Yohan Cabaye and James Tomkins on the treatment table.

And Allardyce says his injuries have affected training ahead of their game with relegation rivals Hull.

He added: “Our training has been disrupted by knocks and bruises. Wardy [Joel Ward] has a broken nose and Andros Townsend has an achilles problem.

“We’ve kept the training light this week.”
