Neal Ardley was all about justice after Dons’ 0-0 draw with Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

The single point, coupled with other results at the bottom of League Two, means the Dons go into the final five games just six points clear of the relegation zone.

Ardley, however, was pleased with the Dons attacking play even though the draw makes it one win in eight games.

He said: “I know it’s all about results. But I always fear a bad performance, you don’t want them to not do the club justice, and the fans justice, and how we train justice, so I’m kind of pleased with the performance because I thought we were very good today.

“I’m just disappointed we never took that chance but it’s been the story of our season. We’ll keep driving on."

He added: “We said it was all about us and we tried to be as front-foot as we could the whole game and I thought first half it was us pouring forward regularly and them clearing long balls and trying to cause us problems that way.

“I thought we were the better team, I think the stats show we were the better team and we played well and picked up another point. We have to dust ourselves down and we have to go again for next week.”

And Ardley hopes the experience of last year’s relegation fight will help them pick up the points needed this time around, but without it going to the final day when Wimbledon will travel to Accrington Stanley, who are level with the Dons on 49 points.

“We know from this time last year,” he added. “We’ve experienced that. All we can do is keep trying.”
