Dear Jake Reeves,
I think I love you.
No, not like that. But it’s hard to watch what you did last weekend and not feel something. You know?
We were careening toward another batch of dropped points in a game we really needed to win.
Rhys Murphy's goal earlier in the second half got us back in, but as the seconds ticked down in stoppage time it looked like a draw was the best we could hope for.
And, see, here’s the thing. It took some balls to do what you did.
Your shot could have very easily landed in the stands. Or on the roof. When the ball left your foot it really didn’t look like it was going in.

House of Payne: Why are AFC Wimbledon always kicked around like a political football?
I don’t need to tell you what kind of blowback you would have encountered had you missed.
With that little time remaining and that much on the line, it’s the kind of shot you really needed to hit the target with.
Maybe you planned that dip. Maybe you were the beneficiary of some outstandingly good fortune. Maybe the fates themselves are conspiring to put the Dons into the play-offs.
Whatever the reason, you rescued a win from the outer fringes of possibility and kept this team in the play-off hunt.
And for that, you have my undying respect and affection.
Please don’t ever leave.
Best Wishes,
DFATP
