Ryan Sweeney has turned his back on the Premier League to sign a new contract at AFC Wimbledon.
The 18-year-old centre back has impressed boss Neal Ardley since stepping in to replace the injured Karleigh Osborne in February.
Ardley told Dons Player: "Ryan has put pen to paper on an extension to his contract that will keep him here for the foreseeable future.
"It's great news and we want our young, talented players to be at the club for a long time."
Sweeney, who has been attracting attention from the top flight, said: "My heart is set here. I want to play for Wimbledon.
"I think I've progressed this season and especially over the past 18 months."
