AFC Wimbledon’s promotion to League One has inevitably conjured talk of impending meetings with the franchise.

However, boss Neal Ardley is already pouring water on the potentially explosive games.

The 43-year-old already has more experience than most of facing that side from up the M1.

He has managed the Dons on three occasions against the pretenders to the Dons name, losing two and winning one – that being the most recent in last season’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Ardley said: “The MK Dons games are two games in the season.

“It was inevitable our paths would cross in a league season if we continued our progress.

“They will be two games with an edge on them, no doubt about that, but they are two games towards our points total for the season.”
