Tottenham Hotspur scored three times during the second half to see off AFC Wimbledon in an historic FA Cup clash.

The Dons went into the break having frustrated the Premier League hosts with a highly-disciplined performance, getting some half-chances themselves.

But England international Harry Kane scored twice shortly past the hour, before Jan Vertonghen found the back of the net from range.

Here’s how Wimbledon Guardian rated AFC Wimbledon’s players…

George Long – 7 – Despite the scoreline he made some excellent saves to deny Tottenham, particularly during the first half. Hardly made an error, but was overawed.

Barry Fuller – 6 – Led from the defence well and matched Spurs’ attack at time pace for pace. Made important clearances and challenges, blocked and intercepted effectively.

Deji Oshilaja – 7 – Met everything with conviction aerially and twice had to clear crosses away when the opposition threatened. Brilliant blocks at tomes.

Darius Charles – 7 – Made a block on the line, if memory serves. Disciplined alongside Oshilaja and Meades, and while Llorente was a handful, he was not terribly overmatched.

Jonathan Meades – 6 – Decent outing, although he did switch off for one of the goals. Measured well against Kane when he was in the box to deny an easy chance.

Andy Barcham – 6 – Covered reasonably well for Meades as they came up against Lamela and Trippier, but ultimately their athleticism got them past for the goals.

Nadjim Abdou – 6 – Was Wimbledon’s second-furthest threat going forward at times and got Taylor one or two chances at times. Cracked the bar at one point. Solid first-half, some struggles in the second.

Liam Trotter – 6 – Sat deep and defended well, was the holding midfield in the five-man setup. Performed well to ensure the ball didn’t go through the middle.

Tom Soares – 6 – Not much different from Abdou. Was on the other side of the three-man centre with similar instructions. Blocked and defended well, occasionally got forward.

George Francomb – 6 – A necessary supporting cast for Fuller down the right side with Kyle Walker-Peters and Sissoko lurking. Played an excellent free-kick into Meades as well.

Lyle Taylor – 6 – Was dispossesed for the Vertonghen goal, but fashioned chances when he could. Was the lone man as expected and had to use his speed.
