Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis will only sign players who are willing to adhere to the Eagles philosophy.

With only two days left until the end of the January transfer window, Palace are yet to make any signings and Pulis admitted he was "hoping and praying" that would change.

Prior to Tuesday night's 1-0 win over Hull City, Pulis rubbish any rumours linking Palace with FC Twente defender Andreas Bjelland or Brondy striker Simon Makienok.

However, he did admit to making an enquiry about Wigan Athletic defender Ivan Ramis, but is resigned to losing out to Premier League rivals Cardiff City.

Talks with former Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko remain ongoing, while another rumoured target, Tom Ince, is set to hold talks with Hull City and Sunderland.

Pulis said the club need to recruit a certain kind of player, and that he would not bring in anyone who was up for a free ride.

“We’ve been working very hard to identify players and bring them in, I am sure it will be busy come the end of the week.

“We need to bring in four or five players.

“I am not talking about spending money on one of them that is extortionate, I am talking about bringing players in who have a little bit of experience in the Premier League but also have something to prove, that’s very important for us.”

He added: “We have a smashing group of players who work their socks off for the club, and we don’t want to bring people in here who are going to stroll around.

“They have to roll their sleeves up and have a go for us.”
