Mile Jedinak believes Crystal Palace’s tour to America was just what the doctor ordered ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

The Eagles’ skipper, pictured below, had a tough summer of football, playing in Rio as part of the Australia squad that were eliminated in the group stages of the World Cup.

But following a draw with Columbus Crew and wins over Philadelphia Union and Richmond Kickers, Jedinak said the tour was ideal preparation for him with the start of the season just a week and a half away.

He said: “I feel great. I was able to get some minutes there and get some training. It’s all about progression for me.

“I feel refreshed and ready to knuckle down and get started on what’s sure to be a tough season this year.

“Those games in America were our first real hit-outs in pre-season and the boys were great.”

He added: “We got to work with each other on a day-to-day basis, and it’s all about team-building so it was great to be around the lads.

“It’s also good to be back and getting into the normal routine, all in preparation for the first game next weekend.”
