Palace boss Alan Pardew reckons referee Mark Clattenburg gave Hull City too many of the key decisions during Saturday’s 2-0 defeat.

A Dame N’Doye second half double, including an injury time effort that sealed the win, saw the Tigers leave Selhurst Park with all three points in their battle to avoid relegation.

However, with the score at 1-0, Palace had a Yaya Sanogo equaliser ruled out for an apparent push on Hull defender Paul McShane.

Pardew said: “Key decisions went against us. There was a handball in the lead up to their first goal, but that was hard for the referee to call.

“We should have had a penalty against Wilf, and our goal being disallowed was tough.”

He added: “In the game, you know as a centre half that there is going to be some jostling going on – the centre half knows there is going to be some of that.

“But their centre half goes to the ground and buys the foul. Not many referees give that, but it was given.”

Pardew also had issues with the length of time the Tigers’ late substitutions.

Unhappy: Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew

He said: “Mark is a good referee and he has to make key decisions, I hope he will sit down and look at the time the substitutes from Hull City took in the second half.

“I have an issue with the time they took – no matter what the score was. Substitutes take time, but some took four minutes to come off.

“I’ve no problem with that as teams scrapping for points waste time, I’ve done it myself, but I am disappointed with the referee not adding them on.”

Palace go to Chelsea this weekend, ahead of the visit to Selhurst Park of Manchester United on May 9.
