Crystal Palace will build on their victory against Norwich on Saturday and enjoy more success when Everton travel to Selhurst Park this evening.

That is the verdict of Charlie Nicholas, who has tipped up a 2-1 home win as the Eagles look to put any relegation fears to bed.

After a strong start to the season, the Eagles’ form dramatically fell away and the club had failed to win a league game in 14 attempts before the weekend.

The 1-0 victory over relegation-threatened Norwich left Alan Pardew’s side 10 points clear of the relegation zone with six games remaining.

Everton, meanwhile, are being dragged further to the bottom of the table having failed to win in four games.

Pressure on Roberto Martinez’ shoulders has intensified and Nicholas insists the Toffees are underachieving.

He told Sky Sports: “Well, we're obviously well aware of the Everton situation and Roberto Martinez can't hide from the fact that this gifted team are underachieving.

“This club has to focus everything on the FA Cup semi-final, although the fans' demands mean Martinez can't take his foot off the gas in the league unless he doesn't mind seeing more banners.

“Palace got their win at the weekend which means they can relax again and I think, with Everton focusing on the cup, they will win again.”
