West Ham and Crystal Palace are the favourites to sign Christian Benteke this summer after the Belgian striker opened up about his Liverpool future.

Benteke joined Liverpool for £32.5m in July but started just eight league games under Jurgen Klopp last season.

The 25-year-old says he hopes to stay at Anfield, but will be forced to consider a move if he is not in Klopp’s immediate plans.

Benteke said: “I still have a contract at Liverpool and I'd like to stay there, if I remain in the coach's plans.

“If that's not the case, it will become difficult to stay.

“When Klopp arrived I saw that I wasn't in his plans. That was frustrating because I knew that during my first season at Aston Villa he wanted me.

“But we had several discussions together - I respect and I understand his decisions. I'll think about if after the Euros.”

With Benteke’s future at Liverpool increasingly unclear, West Ham have emerged as the favourite to secure his signature in the summer transfer window.

Sky Bet price up a move to the Hammers at 5/2, while Palace are second favourites at 3/1.

Everton and Chelsea are 6/1 and 7/1 in the market respectively, while Benteke is a 5/2 shot to stay with Liverpool.

Former Aston Villa forward Benteke is currently in France preparing for Euro 2016 with Belgium.
