Boss Jim Cooper says Met Police have nothing to fear going into this weekend’s FA Trophy at Maidenhead United.

Cooper raved about his side’s 2-0 Ryman Premier League win over Maidstone United last weekend as proof they can mix it with the big boys.

Now they face Conference South opposition, hoping to reach the first round proper of the FA Trophy.

Cooper said: “We were superb against Maidstone.

“We have such a solid defensive partnership in Steve Sutherland and Rob Bartley, we’ve not conceded at home in six games, and only conceded two in eight league games at home – we’re very hard to break down.

“It’s a great way to go into the FA Trophy game, we realised there is no pressure on us, we can go out there and play our game, we can express ourselves and go on the attack knowing we have that defensive backing.”

Matt Pattison and Jack Knight got the goals to see off Maidstone, while Pattison was also on target in Tuesday night’s 1-0 win over Walton & Hersham in the Surrey County Cup.

Pattison, although not match fit, could start at Maidenhead, but Ryan James (suspension) and Will Salmon (injury) miss out.
