Andrew White was the hero of the hour for Sutton Common Rovers on Saturday as they marched into the second round proper of the FA Vase for the first time in the club’s history.
White struck the only goal in the second half to see off Worthing United on the south coast.
Rovers pocketed £900 in prize money and set up the visit of either AFC Croydon Athletic or Beckenham, who replayed last night (Wednesday,) on November 21.
There was less good news in the second round of the Surrey Senior Cup on Tuesday night when National League side Woking hit Rovers 10-0.
Rovers return to action in the Premier Division of the Combined Counties League this weekend at Chertsey.
